avatar - the movie kind - my experience

so i saw avatar last night. ive heard nothing but positive reviews since it came out... namely reviews from peeps i know. i heard one negative review from someone who complained the 3d effects gave them headaches, and the length was long. my thoughts...

its good, but im not in a rush to see it again. the length was long, and to see it at the cinemas again while its still running full strength in popularity, i dont recommend it. getting yourself a good seat in toowoomba is hard since you cant book your seating. in the capitals where u can get your seating booked, sure, might be alright... but stuck in the corner with a dude kicking your seat doesnt help the avatar experience. try gold class... probably worth it (though i know of no gold class cinema with 3D).

as for the 3D... yea... its 3D... yay. im not blown away by the 3D glasses wearing experience, but the visual effects are very impressive. i hear its a $300 million dollar production - ouch!

so to sum this up... it really is nothing more than sci-fi fern gully without robin williams. Dude lives with the natives, sympathizes, bulldozers move in to knock over trees, dude fights back, no hilarious robin williams bat voices, natives win, audience learns valuable lesson that the natives require compensation of the monetary kind, or maybe not money, but an apology at least! infact, no money nor apology happens in the movie, perhaps k-rudd could have learnt from this movie.

thats the full of it.

overall, good movie, no rush to see it again (a 2.40hr movie), 3d probably isnt worth the money, visuals are good.
